Web Hosting Technical Support

On this page are basic instructions for uploading and changing your LMi website, and links to other sites our customers have found helpful in creating beautiful, useful websites.

Websites are viewed using a web browser (such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari) and published (uploaded to a web server) using an FTP program (such as Filezilla for Windows and Cyberduck for Mac OS X.)

Each website is on a particular server, or "host" (examples include wasabi.lmi.net and ftp.mysite.com), and in a particular folder (aka "directory" or "path"), and each website has a unique ftp login (or "username") and password.

LMi provides each Web Hosting customer with a hostname, path, username, and password - with this information and an FTP program, you can upload new pages to your LMi website, or make changes to existing content.

We also have specific setup instructions for the following FTP programs:

For free accounts (websites on http://users.lmi.net):

• On a Mac (using Cyberduck, Interarchy, Fetch, or Terminal)
• On a PC (using Filezilla)

For Pro accounts (websites with a custom domain name)

• Instructions for Macintosh users using Anarchie
• Instructions for Macintosh users using Fetch
• Instructions for PC Windows 95/98/etc. users using CuteFTP
